Davin R. Sheetz, 59, of Newmanstown, PA, died on Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, at M.S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA. He was the husband of Kathy L. “Katie” (Patches) Sheetz. They just celebrated their anniversary on Sept. 18, having spent nearly four decades with each other.
Born in Reading, PA, on July 31, 1965, he was a son of the late David G. and MaryAnn E. (Schwalm) Sheetz.
Davin was a 1983 graduate of ELCO High School. He was an office manager for D&R Autobody, and before that, he worked as an “on the road” sales manager, most recently for Lawson Products.
Davin was an active member of the Millcreek Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed photography, music, including playing guitar, and surf fishing. He was happiest when he had opportunities to photograph live music events. Photographing Farm Aid and Jefferson Starship were highlights for him. Davin also enjoyed spending time with his family, and the love he had and joy brought to him by his grandchildren was boundless.
In addition to his wife, Davin is survived by a daughter, Kiri B., wife of Justin Arndt, of Newmanstown; son, Shannon D. Sheetz, fiance of Jeff Sanchez, of Baltimore, MD; three grandchildren, Olivia (13), Austin (10), and Evelyn (9) Arndt; mother-in-law, Betty Patches; sister-in-law, Teresa Ebling; uncle, Mike Sheetz; step-mother, Lois Sheetz; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Todd Sheetz; brother-in-law, Ladd Patches; and father-in-law, Arthur “Fuzzy” Patches.
Davin played a key role in initiating the Friday Free Meal and Food Pantry at Living Stones Church in Newmanstown. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to Lebanon County Christian Ministries, who support these initiatives, at 250 S. 7th St., Lebanon, PA 17042, or online at www.lccm.us.
All are welcome at a memorial service for Davin on Saturday, Jan. 18, at 11 a.m. at Living Stones Church, 229 E. Main St., Newmanstown, PA. We also invite visitors to join us after the service, at noon, for light refreshments and an opportunity to share time with the family. Davin’s service will be an informal event. He would be honored if everyone dressed in tie-dye or their favorite band-themed attire.
