Dean H. Haine, 82, of Lebanon, died on March 1st.

He was born in New Brighton, PA on March 5, 1940, the son of James H. and Doris (Moegerle) Haine.

He was a 1958 graduate of Cheltenham High School in Glenside, PA, and a 1962 graduate of Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio where he was a member of the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity.

After college, he served in the US Air Force Reserves and began his career as an investment analyst in the Trust Department of Girard Trust Bank in Philadelphia. Throughout his lengthy and diversified trust career, he held a variety of administrative, supervisory, and management positions and trust system conversion assignments for Girard then Mellon Bank. He retired in 1996 as head of Mellon’s personal trust services for South Central Pennsylvania.

Dean and Susie were members of Lebanon Country Club and enjoyed golfing and traveling with friends, which included vacation trips to Hilton Head.

In recent years, Dean has had much pride in working closely with Alpha Sigma Phi and several of Marietta’s brothers to get their historic chapter returned to the Marietta College campus

Dean is survived by his wife of 31 years, Susan, two sons, James, of Wilmington, DE, and Steven (Dana), grandsons, Ethan and Owen, of Durham, NC, and step-daughter, Kristine Merchant (Chris), of Elizabethtown, PA.

There will be no services for Dean.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in Dean’s name to the Derry Presbyterian Church, 248 East Derry Road, Hershey, PA 17033.
