Deanna F. Smith, 84, of Palmyra, passed away on Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. She was the wife of Karl R. Smith, to whom she was married for 66 years.
Born in Lebanon, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Orlene (Bates) Custer. Deanna was a 1959 graduate of Cornwall High School. She worked for Kraft Foods on the packing line and was a member of Gravel Hill United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her daily walk with Karl, watching the game show network, and getting together for family dinners and picnics as often as she could.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Craig Smith, and wife, Kelly, and Jodi Brown; grandchildren, Skylar Snyder, and wife, Kelly, Zakari Lehn, and wife, Stephanie, Andrew Snyder, and wife, Kaitlyn, Maggi, wife of Jesse Schlotzhauer, Owen Smith, and wife, Morgan, Rebecca, wife of Brandon Hess, Anthony Royal, and Alex Royal, and wife, Rebecca; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Jeff Custer, and wife, Sheila, Dale Custer, and wife, Brenda, Frank Custer, and wife, Pat, Lorraine, wife of Bill Long, Ruthie Turner, Donna Custer, Wilma, wife of Rod Hostetter, and Margaret, wife of John Bomgardner; and son-in-law, Bryon Lehn.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kim Lehn; and sisters, Darlene Loy and Joyce Hostetter.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 11 a.m., from Gravel Hill United Methodist Church, 131 Gravel Hill Road, Palmyra, PA 17078. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of her service at the Church.
