On November 19, 2021, Deborah Jean White Tannehill finished her race without fear at age 71 after a 20 year battle with cancer and lifelong battle with lupus. She is now at home receiving her crown from her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Debbie would say she was a “stay-at-home-mom,” but that doesn’t begin to describe her daily life. For 15 years she was a surrogate-mom to the many children she taught in her home. She was one of the few people willing to take on the challenge of caring for children with special needs and was often contacted for special cases. Because she was considered each one a blessing from the Lord, each child that entered her home was made to feel special and loved.
In her 30s, she was well known throughout central PA for her successful craft business, Tender Touches, and was a featured artist at the Lebanon Historical Society.
Most importantly and central to her life was her faith in Jesus Christ. She would tell everyone that is the only thing that matters in this life.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, Harriet and Howard White; and brother Dennis White. She is also survived by her beloved husband who devotedly cared for her the past 20 years, Larry Tannehill; sister Carol Cobb; children James Tannehill and Jodie Olson; son-in-law Eric Olson and her greatest joy, her grandson, Noah Olson.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at Christman’s Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
