Debra L. Labe, 54, Jonestown, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 3, 2021. She was celebrating her birthday at her favorite cabin with her beloved husband of 34 years.
Debra was born in Lebanon on October 3, 1967, a daughter of the late Frank, Sr. and Kitty Lou Wike. She was a 1986 graduate of Lebanon High School and had been employed by the Holiday Inn in Grantville for over 23 years.
Debra was the rock of her family. She was an avid dirt track race fan and car owner. Most weekends would find her at one of the local tracks cheering for her son Dave who drove the #1L in the 270cc Micro’s which was a memorial car for her other son, Mikey. She would record the race or Livestream it on Facebook and was the loudest person in the stands. After being a wife, Memaw, mom, sister, and friend, racing was her passion.
She is survived by her husband John Labe, of Jonestown; son, David Labe, of Jonestown and significant other, Katelin Vragovich; daughter, Stephanie Labe, of Jonestown and significant other Isaiah Baker; grandchildren, Nathan Labe, Kendall Labe, Bryson Labe, Lexi Labe and soon to be Bentlee Labe, Jakayden Labe and Kaella Labe. She is also survived by brother, Frank Wike, Jr. and wife Denise; sisters, Cindy wife of Michael Fertig, Sue wife of Raymond Sims, Beth wife of Ted Schott and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son: Michael Labe and her sister, Lisa Young.
Her family is left to pick up the pieces of their hearts, but they will, and Dave will race next year for both Mom and his brother. So if you go to the local tracks, cheer on #1L racing. Deb was also affectionately known as “Deb the Great.” Her energy, laugh, smile and compassion for all will definitely be missed. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021, in the Rohland Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m.
