Dennis H. Wolf, 73, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023, at his home. He was the husband of Gail (Gettle) Wolf, whom he married on June 21, 1969.
Dennis was born in Lebanon on Nov. 11, 1949, to the late Howard A. Wolf and Inez (Muth) Wolf.
He attended Mansfield State College and FEMA Satt College. He was certified and appointed by the Governor as an Emergency Management Coordinator. He was also a Radiological Defense Officer (Federal), Radiological Response Technician (State), PA Fire School Fire Fighter1, Fire Equipment Engineer, and First Responder. He was a part-time Special Police Officer, a volunteer fire fighter, the driver of the Weavertown Number 28 Blue Max Fire Engine, a volunteer Haz-Mat Technician, and a volunteer for search and rescue. In 1994, he was appointed Notary Public for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for four years. He worked for Metropolitan Edison Co. for 28 years and 14 years at Cornwall Manor Retirement Community. When he retired, he started a COPD group online. The group, at one point, had over 2,000 members from all over the world. He designed his home and had a passion for designing and planting trees and bushes around his home. He loved trivia and could remember dates and names. He liked local history and wrote a book about it. He was very creative in designing many models of buildings in the Lebanon area. The former Avon UM Church was one of the models. He was also an avid reader.
He had many health issues in the past 15 years; the latest diagnosis was in August 2023 of Esophageal cancer. He was a member of Kochenderfer United Methodist Church in Lebanon. Dennis was a member of Mt. Olivet Lodge #704 and a lifetime member of Weavertown #28 Fire Co.
In addition to his wife, Gail, he is survived by his sisters, Beth Seyfert (Paul), of Myerstown, and Kathy Allwein, of Lebanon; nephews, Ned Krissinger (Diane), Ben Seyfert (Courtney), and Luke Seyfert (companion, Brooke); nieces, Jennifer Lyons (Michael), Jane Mitchell (Randy), and Haily Seyfert (companion, Davey).
Viewing will be on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, from 10-11 a.m. at Kochenderfer’s United Methodist Church, 1105 Kochenderfer Road, Lebanon. Masonic Services will begin at 10:50 a.m., followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. Burial will be held Monday, Oct. 23, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Grand View Memorial Park, Annville.
