Dennis L. Showers, 70, of Fredericksburg, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2023, at his home. He was the husband of Wendy G. Bender Showers. On March 31, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Born in Lebanon on Nov. 1, 1953, he was the son of the late George and Patricia Baylor Showers.

Dennis was a dairy farmer throughout his life. He had farmed with his family at the Showerdale Dairy in Lebanon. He and his wife then moved to Fredericksburg and started their own dairy farm, which his son is still operating. He was also involved in tractor pulls since he was a child. He enjoyed pulling with his Ford and loved seeing his son and grandson continue in the family tradition. He was a member of the PA Farm Bureau and the Bethel Pullers. He especially loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Jennifer L., wife of Joseph Kessinger, of Fredericksburg; son, Timothy M., husband of Andrea Showers, of Fredericksburg; and grandchildren, Melanie, wife of Dylan Coblentz, Mark Showers, Jessyca Kessinger, and Jordyn Kessinger.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas, husband of Leslee Showers, of DE; and his sister, April Showers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 29, 2023, at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. There will be a visitation on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will follow at Hill Church Cemetery, Lebanon.
