Dennis Lee Fisher, 80, of Myerstown, passed away at home on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply. Born on Dec. 30, 1944, in Lebanon, PA, he was the son of the late Samuel F. and Pauline E. (Yorty) Fisher.
Dennis leaves behind his devoted wife, Joeanne Theresa (Beattie) Fisher, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage — years filled with love, laughter, and more memories than either of them could count. Their bond was the steady center of his life.
If you knew Dennis, you knew his heart. He was happiest outdoors with a fishing rod in hand, especially when his grandsons were beside him. He loved being “PaPa,” teaching the boys how to cast a line, telling stories, and celebrating every big catch like it was their first. His garage was his second home — a place where he could fix just about anything, talk about cars for hours, and work on engines just because he enjoyed it. Whether he was working on a car, mowing the grass, or target shooting with family, Dennis found joy in doing things with the people he loved.
He spent many years enjoying NHRA racing, feeding his lifelong passion for cars and the thrill of the track. His faith was a grounding force for him; as a dedicated member of Mary Gate of Heaven Catholic Church, he lived his values quietly but sincerely. After retiring from Solar Innovations, Dennis embraced the slower pace of life — long breakfasts with friends, time spent in his garage, and every precious moment with family.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Joeanne; children, Michele L. Fisher, Michael A. Fisher, and Jeffrey L. Fisher; cherished grandsons, Adam, Benjamin, Joshua, and Jonathan Fisher; and Adam’s fiancée, Haille Kern; each of whom he was incredibly proud. He was welcomed into heaven by his grandson, Parker Bender; and siblings, Robert Fisher, James Fisher, and Brenda Fasold.
On Friday, Dec. 12, 2025, family and friends may gather for a public viewing from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Mary Gate of Heaven Catholic Church, 188 W. McKinley Ave., Myerstown, PA, with Reverend David Hereshko as celebrant. Burial will follow at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Myerstown.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Dennis’s honor to Mary Gate of Heaven Catholic Church — a place that meant so much to him. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Mary Gate of Heaven Catholic Church.
