Dixie Lee Pettingell, 79, of Hummelstown, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025, at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center.

Born in York, PA, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Dolly (Dickensheets) Stevenson. Dixie was raised by her loving grandparents, Lulu and Roy Dickensheets of York, PA. She worked in retail for the former Danskin Company and attended LCBC, Harrisburg Campus. Dixie loved all types of animals, especially cats, and loved attending church.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle, wife of Daryl Stahle, of Anchorage, AK; grandchildren, Zach Grove, Cory Grove, Joshua Stahle, Brittany, wife of Nolan Kaiser, and Nathan Stahle; seven great-grandchildren; and brothers, Johnnie Kirkessner, and wife, Cindy, and Randy Kirkessner, and wife, Amy. Dixie was preceded in death by her son, Robbie Grove; and sister, Darlene J. Martin.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the local SPCA in her memory.
