Dolores J. Gettle, 85, of Lebanon, PA, died on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. She was the wife of Joseph L. Gettle, who died on Aug. 31, 2019.
Born in Mount Aetna, PA, on Oct. 19, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Rufus and Marion (Houtz) Clay. Dolores was a 1958 graduate of Northern Lebanon High School. She was employed as a typist at Indiantown Gap Military Reservation, Annville, for 28 years. Dolores also worked at the Richland Shoe Factory. She enjoyed singing hymns, reading the Bible, and watching Jimmy Swaggart and Bill Gaither.
Dolores is survived by her daughter, Sharon, wife of Greg Pierce, of Annville; brother, Gary Rufus Clay, of Mechanicsburg; nephews, Bill Stumpf, and Dan, husband of Kristy Gettle; cousin, Judy Ream; several other nieces and nephews; and grand-dog, Bo. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mabel Stumpf.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 12 p.m., at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, preceded by a viewing beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Mount Aetna Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Lebanon County, 150 N. Ramona Road, Myerstown, PA 17067.
