Dolores J. “Lorrie” Long, 93, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Linden Village. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond D. “Sonny” Long.

Born on June 26, 1932, in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Paul Jacob and Arabella M. (Albert) Sheckler. Lorrie was a member of Cornwall United Methodist Church. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed baking, cooking, reading, and singing.

Lorrie is survived by her children, R. David Long Jr., husband of Bonnie, of Lebanon, Kevin P. Long, of South Carolina, Arden D. Long, husband of Sherry, of Lebanon, and Lorrie A. Peniston, wife of William, of Bermuda; grandchildren, Jeremy, Janelle, Tana, Karla, Nathan, Ian, and Liam; and great-grandchildren, Zulay, Stella, Landon Ray, Ryatt, Sonny, Ryker, Olivia, and Reagan.

In addition to her husband, Lorrie was preceded in death by her son, Paul David Long; and sisters, Hazel Kogler and Kay Roth.

Special gratitude is extended to her dear neighbors, Dee and Paul Zook, whose extraordinary kindness, companionship, and care were a true gift in her life. Gratitude is also extended to the caregivers at Linden Village for their compassion and support, and to Leighanne Zimmerman, CRNP, whose exceptional clinical care, attentiveness, and advocacy brought comfort and dignity to her in her final chapter.

A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
