Donald C. “Skip” Hainly, of North Annville Township, passed away at his home on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024.
Born on Nov. 15, 1954, in Key West, Florida, he was the son of the late Donald and Gerry Hainly of Campbelltown.
He grew up in Campbelltown and was a 1973 graduate of Palmyra Area High School. Skip was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from Hershey Chocolate Company 19 East, where he worked as a mechanic for 31 years. A member of the Annville American Legion, he devoted time to putting up the United States flags on Main Street in Annville and graveside flags at numerous cemeteries for patriotic holidays. He enjoyed refinishing and building furniture in his workshop, hunting, and watching NASCAR racing.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy (Hartman), and they recently celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary. They enjoyed traveling to many places. He is also survived by his sister, Lee Anne Sattazahn (Robert), of Palmyra; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Wade Hartman (Bonnie), of Lebanon, Alan Hartman, of Annapolis, MD, and Ted Hartman (Brenda), of Lebanon; step-grandfather, Earl Whitmore; as well as many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and friends.
A time of visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a service to begin at 1 p.m. at Kreamer Funeral Home, Annville, PA. Final interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with military honors.
