Donald E. Guy, Jr., 73, of Myerstown, PA, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020, at VA Medical Center in Lebanon.

He was the husband of Patricia H. (Matczak) Guy. They celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on June 17, 2020.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on Feb. 12, 1947, he was a son of the late Jean (Mirecki) Guy and Donald E. Guy, Sr.

Donald was a 1965 graduate of Father Judge High School. He retired after 25 years as a highway patrolman for the Philadelphia Police department. He also worked as a security guard for the Lebanon VA Medical Center and Bayer.

Mr. Guy served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge# 5 in Philadelphia, Richland American Legion Post #880, and Myerstown Rod and Gun Club. Donald was a former member of Men of Malvern in Malvern, PA

In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by daughters, Christine Janus and Cheryl Guy, companion of Stanley Pliszka; son, Donald Guy III, husband of Tania; grandchildren, Antoinette, Samantha, Donnie, Christian, and Benjamin; sister, Barbara Little; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Philip B. Janus.

Viewing will be held Friday, Dec. 11, 2020 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Grose Funeral Home, Inc. 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, PA 17067. Services will be live-streamed on the funeral home Facebook page at 12 p.m. Please maintain social distancing guidelines.
