Donald E. Nybeck, 87, of Palmyra, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025, at Cedar Haven Healthcare Center.

Born in Tioga County, PA, on Dec. 17, 1937, Donald was the son of the late Albert and Alice (Brooks) Nybeck. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel N. (Wine) Nybeck, and daughter, Lori A. Campbell.

Donald graduated from Blossburg Joint High School, Class of 1956. He was employed at Philhaven Hospital, where he met his beloved wife, Ethel. Together, they dedicated over 50 years of service to the hospital, working side by side. Throughout his career, Donald held numerous roles, including positions in the laundry department, as an orderly, secretary, secretarial manager, and mail center manager.

Donald was a devoted member of Fairland Brethren in Christ Church in Cleona, where he served faithfully in various capacities — Sunday school teacher, bible school coordinator, primary superintendent, board member, children’s church leader, and a member of the kitchen committee.

Donald had a wide range of interests and hobbies. He especially enjoyed traveling, catering, cooking, camping, decorating, reading, and, most of all, spending time with his family.

Surviving are his daughter, Lisa A. Nybeck, of Harrisburg; loving granddaughter, Sarah Kate Campbell; step-granddaughter, Elizabeth Kimmel; great-grandchildren, Evan, Rosalie, and Owen; brothers, Joseph (Mary), Canton, and Vernon Nybeck; sister, Sandra (Richard) Bord, of Morris Run; son-in-law, Chris Campbell; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held at 12 p.m. on Oct. 25, 2025, at Fairland Brethren in Christ Church, 529 W. Penn Ave., Cleona, PA 17042.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fairland Brethren in Christ Church Benevolent Fund or to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Interment will be held privately. Kreamer Funeral Home, Annville, is handling arrangements.
