Donald J. Arnold Sr., 95, of Lebanon, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at home. He was the husband of the late Erlene F. (Fisher) Arnold. Born in Lebanon on April 26, 1925, he was a son of the late Andrew and Anna (Albert) Arnold.
Donald was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and retired as a patent examiner for the government for over 30 years having worked in Washington, D.C. He was a graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School, St. Vincent College, Lebanon Valley College and also attended George Washington Law School. Donald was a member of St. Cecilia’s Church, Rescue Fire Company, and NARFE. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, jogging, and his collection of hummels and beer steins.
Donald is survived by four children, Donald J. Arnold Jr., Stephan A. husband of Dawn Arnold, Thomas W. Arnold, and Kathleen M. Glover and her significant other, Mike Terry, ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was the last of his immediate family. Donald was preceded in death by seven siblings, Robert C. Arnold, Isabelle Rutter, Mildred Tapparo, Margaret Arnold, Albert Arnold, Richard Arnold, and John Arnold.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 30th at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of St. Cecilia, 202 East Lehman Street in Lebanon with a visitation from 10:30-11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
