Donald L. Potts, 74, of Pine Grove, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Susan L. Hauer Potts. On October 5th, they would have celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary.
Born in Pine Grove on May 5, 1946, he was the son of the late Salem G. Sr., and S. Pauline Berger Potts. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Donald retired from the Lebanon VA Medical Center where he had been a driver.
He was a member of the Outwood Lutheran Church, a life member of the VFW Post 3432, a 50-year member of the DAV, and one of the original members of the Old Forge Fishing Club. For many years he served as the Hauptman for Groundhog Lodge #5. He enjoyed hunting and especially spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Ryan L., husband of Abbey Potts, of Bellefonte, daughter, Katie L., wife of Matt Zellers, of Fredericksburg, brother, Salem (Nancy) Potts, Jr., of Pine Grove, sister, Nancy Spangler, of Lititz, and grandchildren, Connor and Gabriel.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 72 & Camp Meeting Rd., Jonestown. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church’s memorial fund, 706 Oak Grove Rd., Pine Grove, PA 17963.
