Doris P. “Peg” Auman, born on May 26, 1934, in Richland, PA, passed away peacefully on Jan. 23, 2026, at Celebration Villa of Lebanon at the age of 91. Doris was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, known for her kind heart and gentle spirit.

Raised in Richland, Doris graduated from Richland High School before embarking on a dedicated career in manufacturing. She worked at Caron Spinning and later at Fargo, contributing her skilled labor to the community.

Doris was a loving mother to her daughter, Linda Ream, and son-in-law, Brian Ream. She took immense joy in her role as a grandmother to Matthew Kurtz, Joel Kurtz, Debra Buffington, Darryl Ream, Michael Ream, and Marcia Glucksnis. Her love extended to several great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter who brought her much happiness throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Auman; son, Larry Kurtz; grandson, Mitchell Kurtz; parents, Ralph and Ranna (Gabler) Layser; and siblings.

A woman of many passions, Doris enjoyed reading and writing poems, singing in her church choir, taking long walks, and indulging in crafts, such as cross-stitching and knitting. She had a fondness for horse races and held a special affinity for angels, which often reflected her nurturing nature.

Doris will be remembered for her warmth and the love she shared with her family and friends. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

The family of Doris P. Auman will gather to honor her memory with a series of services on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026. A visitation will take place at Millcreek Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Following the service, Doris will be laid to rest, with her husband, Gordon, in a graveside ceremony at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating Doris’s life and legacy during these services.
