Dorothy A. Gerhart, 90, of Lebanon, and formerly of Millsboro, DE, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021, in Lebanon. She was the wife of the late Mark H. Gerhart.
Born in Jonestown on March 9, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Clinton L. and Alverda R. Ely Ludwig. Dorothy had been a member of the Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jonestown. She enjoyed knitting, making crafts, fishing, playing bingo, and clamming and crabbing in DE. She especially enjoyed going to see Elvis tribute artists with her friends. Her favorite one in DE was “Bob.” She also enjoyed doing things with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl M. wife of the late Karl French, of Lebanon and Marcia E. wife of Richard Suchanek, of Mill Creek; grandchildren Brett (Joan) French, Kevin (Stephanie) French, Leslie R. Currier, Sarah (Cory) Lovrak and Jacquelyn Suchanek; great-grandchildren Jacey F. (Caleb) Albert, Nathan French, Taylor French and her fiancé Elliott Hain, Logan French, Taylor Currier, Bryce Currier, Elizabeth Lovrak, Emily Lovrak and Calvin Lovrak; sister Arlene Keller of Simpsonville, SC; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Elvin, William, Franklin, and Howard Ludwig and sisters Ida Ludwig, Helen Croesus, Evelyn Nies, Miriam Moudy and Phyllis Miller.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 72 & Camp Meeting Rd., Jonestown. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Grand View Memorial Park, N. Annville Twp., at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
