Dorothy B. Lashinsky, 96, of Cornwall, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021, at Cornwall Manor. She was the wife of the late Francis J. Lashinsky, her husband of 64 years.
Born in New York, New York on July 4, 1924, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Florence (Stone) Byrne.
Dorothy was a graduate of Bishop McDonnell High School in Brooklyn, New York, and a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Cornwall. She worked as an administrative assistant for AT&T for many years prior to her retirement. A loving and devoted wife and mother, Dorothy had a knack for crafts. As a talented seamstress, she made wardrobes full of clothing for her children and created cross-stitch masterpieces that will forever be cherished. Dorothy was arguably the best mom ever. No matter what may have been troubling her, she always put her family first and did it with a smile on her face. Always. Dorothy will always be remembered for her tender disposition, gentle smile, and unshakeable positive attitude.
Dorothy leaves behind three children who adored her, James Lashinsky, Mary Lashinsky, and Jeanne Engel, three granddaughters, three great-grandchildren, a brother, Neil Byrne, and his wife, Pat, and several nieces and nephews, with whom she always remained very close. She was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Byrne.
Funeral services at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy’s name may be made to Cornwall Manor Benevolent Fund, 1 Boyd St., Cornwall, PA 17016. Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. has been entrusted with arrangements.
