Dorothy M. (Engle) Schoen, 90, of Myerstown, died on Monday, November 28, 2022, at Shippensburg Health Care Center.

She was born on Wednesday, February 10, 1932, to the late Stephen and Dorothy (Reed) Engel in Detroit, Michigan.

She and three of her siblings were raised in foster care after their mother died when Dorothy was just three years old. She was retired from the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lebanon and was previously employed by Marco Electric, Womelsdorf. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, word puzzles, Hollywood Casino, dining out as well as visits with her family, friends, and neighbors.

She is survived by her sister Susan Greenawalt of York, PA, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband Richard F. Schoen, daughter Cynthia S. Schoen, siblings: Betty Tangradi, Thomas Engel, Joan Trompeter, and 2 nieces and 2 nephews.

A memorial service will be held on January 11, 2023, at Christman’s Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, 235 South Maple Street, Lebanon.
