Dorothy V. Blouch née Boughter, 84, passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 24, 2025, in the Alpine Valley Post Acute & Healthcare Center, formerly Spang Crest in Lebanon, where she was admitted for short-term rehab to recover from a fractured shoulder.
She was born on Aug. 15, 1940, to the late Katherine Nagle and William Boughter.
Affectionately known as “Dottie” to her family and friends, Dorothy was a hard worker. She worked in production for many years, finishing her career at Reese’s Candy Company, where she retired in 2007. More than anything, Dorothy loved her family. She enjoyed spending time with them whenever possible and treating them to her home cooking, especially her spaghetti sauce, pot pie, and potato filling from scratch. She always made enough food for everyone. She also enjoyed sneaking her great-grandchildren “special treats” when they came to visit her on Sundays. She always had a stash of something good on hand to share with everyone.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Larry (Susan) Blouch, Dennis Blouch, Marjorie (Daniel) Ober, Calvin Blouch III, and Rita Blouch (James McCarthy). She was a loving nana to her grandchildren, Christopher Blouch, Victoria (Christopher) Layser, Nicole (Brett) McCoy, and Danielle Ober (James O’Toole); and her great-grandchildren, Solen Layser, Lillian Blouch, Tyler Blouch, Greyson McCoy, and Brooke McCoy. Dorothy is also survived by her brother, James Nagle; cousin and good friend, Shirley Stegman; sister-in-law, Arlene (Elmer) Faller; niece; and several nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Calvin Blouch Jr.; sister, Rose (Gary) Bricker; and sister, Judith May.
Dorothy Blouch’s service will be held on Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Christman’s Funeral Home, Inc., with the burial immediately following at 2 p.m. at Covenant Greenwood Ebenezer Cemetery on Route 72 North, 410 Ebenezer Road.
Memorial donations can be made in Dorothy’s name to the Humane Society of Lebanon County.
