Dr. David M. Engle, 54, of Lebanon, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Shannon (Love) Engle, with whom he would have celebrated 21 years of marriage in May.

Born in Lebanon, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Darlene J. (Faust) Engle. Dr. Engle was a 1990 graduate of Cedar Crest High School. Following residency at Lancaster General Hospital and his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine, Dr. Engle joined Annville Family Medicine in 2004 (now UPMC Annville). Dr. Engle was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lebanon. He loved to travel, was an avid reader, loved cooking and baking, and loved making his own recipes. He enjoyed playing trumpet with his fellow physicians in the Auscultation Brass in Lancaster and duets with his son. Dr. Engle was very proud of his children and their accomplishments. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, patients, and all who knew him.

In addition to his wife Shannon, Dr. Engle is survived by his twin children, James and Emily Engle; sisters, Sherry Brace and Jennifer, wife of Nicholas Modesto; nieces, Samantha, Megan, and Jessica Brace, and Lilly Modesto; and nephew, Jack Modesto.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 2 p.m., at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 723 Lehman St., Lebanon, PA 17046. Burial will be private. A visitation with his family will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of his service at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, heart.org, and/or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, cff.org, in his memory.
