Dr. Richard A. Bohn, DDS, devoted the majority of his life to serving others—both in his profession and through a deep commitment to family, community, and service. He spent most of his life living and practicing dentistry in Richland, PA, where for 57 years he cared for generations of patients from 1965 until 2022.
Dr. Bohn was a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College and went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1963. Following graduation, he proudly served his country as a Captain in the U.S. Army, where he practiced dentistry at Fort Benning, GA, from 1963 to 1965.
Well known for his generosity and charitable spirit, Dr. Bohn gave countless hours to helping others beyond his local community. He traveled to impoverished areas of Mexico, Honduras, Nicaragua, Brazil, and Peru on dozens of medical mission trips, providing needed dental care to those with no access. Through his involvement with the Rotary Club, he also participated in well‑drilling mission trips, bringing clean water to communities in need in El Salvador.
For decades, Dr. Bohn was an active member of both the Myerstown Lions Club and the Rotary Club, organizations that reflected his lifelong dedication to service. He was also a member of the Williamson Masonic Lodge.
Outside of his professional and humanitarian work, he loved his family deeply and treasured time spent with them. He was equally at home enjoying the mountains or relaxing at the beach, wherever family and peace could be found.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Judith A. Bohn, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage. He was a devoted father to his children, Scott Bohn, and his wife, Nancy, Christopher Bohn, and his wife, Shannon, and Janell Weiant, and her husband, Todd, and a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and 10 great‑grandchildren.
