Earl E. “Bucky” Buchmoyer, 78, of Lebanon, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his late wife, RuthAnn (Heisey) Buchmoyer, who passed away in 2003.
Earl was born in Lebanon on Oct. 16, 1945, to the late Ezra and Sarah (Nick) Buchmoyer.
He worked in production and retired from the press room at Hershey Foods. Earl was a member of the Fontana Christian Fellowship. He enjoyed listening to southern gospel music, going to concerts with his family, all things chocolate, especially chocolate milk, and all food-related things. Earl was known for talking to everyone and always handing out his beloved Hershey candy. He loved telling corny jokes at times. He was also a lifelong Phillies fan, loved trains, and authored many poems.
Surviving are his sons, Michael Buchmoyer (Heather), of Allentown, and Earl Buchmoyer (Stacy), of Hershey; and grandchildren, Tanner and Adrienne.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ezra Buchmoyer. He is also survived by Patricia (Fulk) Buchmoyer.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Fontana Chapel, 22 Fontana Ave., Lebanon. Interment will be in Grand View Memorial Park, Lebanon. There will be a viewing from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the church.
