Earl Richard Whorley, 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 31, 2024. He was the husband of Heather C. Aurentz Whorley, to whom he was married for 68 years.

He was born in Annville, Pennsylvania on Sept. 10, 1932. He was the son of the late Harry and Edna Becker Whorley.

Earl was a 1950 graduate of Palmyra High School. He was a member of St. Mark’s United Church of Christ, Lebanon. He entered the U.S. Army and served with the 45th Infantry Division of Oklahoma and the 175th Infantry Regiment for three years in the Korean conflict. He was employed by Millard Quarry, retiring after 29 years as the Quarry Supervisor. He was an avid outdoorsman, including hunting, trapping, and snowmobiling.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, is his daughter, Melody, married to Dennis Gable; two granddaughters, Alicia Gable and Jennifer Van Fossen (Richard); one great-granddaughter, Lena Van Fossen; and two sisters, June Weit and Isabelle Seibert.

He was preceded in death by his brother, George Whorley.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 11 a.m., at Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will be in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Pine Acres through St. Mark’s UCC, 426 N. 8th St., Lebanon, PA 17046. Pine Acres is a church camp through St. Mark’s UCC, in which Earl was very active in participating throughout the years.
