Eddie M. “Mike” Smith, 73, of Myerstown, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, at his home. He was the husband of Barbara J. Smith. On July 3, they would have celebrated their 32nd anniversary.
Born in Vandalia, IL, on June 26, 1951, he was the son of the late Wallace and Mary J. Oldham Smith.
For 30 years, Mike worked as a truck driver. He was also the owner/operator of Landstar Trucking and then started a handyman business called M&B Restoration. Mike loved to work and loved his dogs.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Brent, husband of Julie Smith, of Brownstown, IL; daughter, Charline, wife of Scott Ihn, of Perry, FL; grandson, Joey, husband of Courtney Laudermilch; and stepfather, Max Rench, of Vandalia, IL.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Mick Smith.
Memorial services will be on Friday, Feb. 21, 2025, at 12 p.m. at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home. Visitation will start at 11 a.m. until the start of the service. Inurnment will be at Pleasant Hill Chapel Cemetery.
