Edgar D. Tobias Jr., 78, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 6, at WellSpan Lebanon after a brief illness. Born in Lebanon on Feb. 1, 1947, he was the son of the late Edgar D. and Margaret Mary (Barry) Tobias. He was a 1965 graduate of ELCO High School and was self-employed as an electrician, later working at Weidle Sanitation after he retired.

Edd was an avid outdoorsman, spending his time hunting and fishing in Tioga and Potter counties; first at the Steitztown Camp in Leetonia, and later at the No View Camp in Germania, PA. When he wasn’t hunting, he was entertaining his buddies with a story or a joke around the campfire. He was well-known for his open pit chicken barbecue and spent many weekends helping raise money for fire companies and social clubs. Edd was also a regular at many local social clubs and restaurants, always ready to share a story and a PBR.

He is survived by his son, David, husband of Jennifer; daughter, Melanie, wife of Harvey Klick; grandchildren, Danielle, Jeffrey, Patrick, Samantha, Zachary, Derin, and Riley; and great-grandchildren, Dylan, Wyatt, Simon, Finn, and Milo. Edd is also survived by his siblings, Carol Heller, Bobbie Werner, Sherry Curley, Margie Miller, Jim Tobias, and Drew Tobias; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Services will be at the convenience of the family.
