Edward J. Albert, 88, passed away on June 24, 2021, at home in Lebanon, Pennsylvania.

Ed was born and raised in Schaefferstown, PA. He was the proud son of Roscoe and Catherine (Heilman) Albert, both of whom predeceased Ed.

Ed was the owner of Albert’s Body Shop from 1953-1969, which was passed along to his son Kevin, who currently continues the business which is located in Lebanon, PA. Ed was also the Vice President of claims for Lebanon Mutual and claims manager for State Auto expanding over 32 years.

Ed was a husband, a father, brother, uncle and friend to many. He loved spending time with family and friends. One of Ed’s best strengths was his strong work ethic. He installed that work ethic into his three sons, and five grandchildren. He was extremely proud of his three sons, grandchildren and his wife, Gere, for their successes and their incredible work ethic.

Ed served on the Cornwall Lebanon School Board for over 30 years. He served as the president of the board and also as the chairman of the buildings and grounds committee for several school renovations and projects. He was a lifetime member of the Sertoma Club, a member of the Navy Club of Lebanon, one of the founding fathers of the Friendship Hunting Camp and he served in the Navy for four years. Ed loved watching Penn State Football, playing golf and enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in various sporting activities.

He is survived by his wife, Gere Albert and their three sons, Edward, Jr., Michael and Kevin. His five grandchildren are Kevin Albert, Jr., Brixton Albert, Tatum wife of Shawn Varela, Ahnastasia Albert and Everett Albert. He had one great granddaughter Alena. His late brothers and sister included Eugene, Carl, Ross, Frederic, Calvin Albert and Katherine Heckard and his loyal companion Nipper their dog of 13 years.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at The Church of St. Cecelia, 120 E. Lehman St. Lebanon. A visitation will be held prior to Mass from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be held at a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery.
