Edward P. “Spark” Root, Jr., 54, of Fredericksburg, died on Friday, September 24, 2021, at Wellspan Ephrata Hospital.

Edward was born on Wednesday, March 29, 1967, to Edward P. Root and the late Linda Root nee Stamm in Lebanon. He was a veteran of the Army in the Gulf War and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Edward was also a Green Bay Packers fan and a member of DAV.

Surviving, in addition to his father, are sister Cindy Rivers and spouse Wendell; nephew Kyle Rivers and companion Krissa Barr; best friends Mike and Tawnya Hitz; dog Feba. He was preceded in death by brothers Corey Root and Steven Root.

Viewing will be on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Christman’s Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon. Funeral services will be on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville at the convenience of the family.
