Edward S. Wolfe, Jr. died on Monday, August 30, 2021, at age 69 at home with his loving wife of 46 years, Dara (Bennethum), at his side.
“Eddie” had many hobbies including: tandem bike riding, vacationing in Wildwood Crest (where he would ride the waves on a boogie board), and yard work with special attention to flowers. Eddie was a drummer in the “Rehrersburg-Keystone Band” and “Big Band Nostalgia.” A lifetime resident of Richland, Eddie volunteered with Neptune Fire Company and was a member of Millcreek Lutheran Church, where he taught the Adult Sunday School class for many years. Eddie was active in Relay for Life for 15 years. Eddie worked as a sewing machine mechanic and had excellent sewing skills of his own often making a gift of his experience to family and friends.
Eddie was predeceased by his father, Edward Wolfe, Sr. Surviving Eddie are his mother, Virginia (Layser) Wolfe of Richland; his aunt and uncle, Peg (Doris Layser) and Chub (Gordon) Auman of Myerstown; sister-in-law Amber (Bennethum) wife of Robert Althouse of Robesonia; sister-in-law Erica Bennethum of Kaiserslautern, Germany; plus several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at Millcreek Lutheran Church (221 North Sheridan Road, Newmanstown) on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., with time for visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be private.
