Eileen J. Heeter, 90, of Annville, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Lebanon Valley Home in Annville. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 67 years, William H. “Bill” Heeter.
Born in Harrisburg, PA, on March 12, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Vincent H. and Alice J. (Geiste) Boland. She graduated from the Harrisburg Polyclinic School of Nursing and worked as a nurse at the Lebanon VA Hospital and as a school nurse for the Annville-Cleona School District. Eileen was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Annville, where she taught Sunday school for many years, served on the Christian Education committee, and helped for many years with the Community Bible School for the Annville-Cleona Area Council of Churches. She volunteered her time with the school PTA and the Band Boosters. Often, she joined her husband, Bill, when he volunteered at the Second Mountain Hawk Watch for bird watching, the Annville Lions Club, and the Union Canal Tunnel Park.
Eileen was an avid reader of mystery books and historical novels. She enjoyed watching her children and then her grandchildren in their sports, band, scout, musical, and dance activities, and watching entertainment on TV, especially her Steelers, game shows, holiday parades, the National Dog Show, and the Olympics. One of her favorite pastimes was riding with Bill around Memorial Lake looking for wildlife, going out to eat at restaurants, and traveling with family on vacations, especially if it involved lighthouses or possible moose sightings.
Surviving are her daughters, Joyce Felty, wife of Dana, of Annville, and Laurie Brown, wife of Dwayne, of Manheim; daughter-in-law, Holly Heeter, of Annville; brothers, Vincent Boland, husband of Dianna, of Lebanon, and Gerald Boland, of West Virginia; sister-in-law, Carole L. Yeakley, wife of Thomas, of Annville; grandchildren, Nathan, Justin, Emily, Brian, Brandon, Paige, Addison, and Kendall; and great-grandchild, Lexa. Eileen was preceded in death by her son, Dr. David Heeter; and brother, Joseph Boland.
