Elaine Fay (Faus) Martin, 55, of Newmanstown, passed away early in the morning on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024, after two and a half years of battling stage four melanoma. She passed peacefully in the arms of her husband and surrounded by her six children. She lived a beautiful life, wholly dedicated to God and her family. Nelson and Elaine celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary on June 9.

Born on Jan. 7, 1969, in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Florence and Abram Faus.

Elaine was a musician who performed for over 20 years as the bass player in the Celtic Martins with her family. Through the band, she and the family brought their music to audiences across the United States and into Canada. Elaine always put ministry first, aiming to bring others the light of Jesus through her music and volunteering. She was a member of Tri-County Worship Center, where she played bass on the worship team, and she was a volunteer with Align Life Ministries and a former volunteer at On-Fire Youth Ministry. She was an artist who taught watercolor painting for a number of years at Tapestry Homeschool Co-op in Lancaster County.

Elaine poured her life into her family. She homeschooled her six children over the span of 27 years and was instrumental in helping them find their way. She emphasized their musical and art education by finding them tutors. She was an avid gardener and lover of the outdoors, and she loved to spend time with her growing family on a number of adventures.

Remaining to cherish her memory are her husband, Nelson Martin, and her children, Emily, and her husband, Elijah Roeder, of Lebanon, Melissa, and her husband, Ben Hagy, of Myerstown, Brian, and his wife, Emilie (Geib) Martin, of Lebanon, Christine, and her husband, Laverne King, of Ephrata, Zachary, and his wife, Hannah (Hurst) Martin, of Newmanstown, and Alexander Martin, of Newmanstown. Elaine was blessed with 10 grandchildren. She was the youngest with seven siblings: Grace, and her husband, Donald Hollinger, of Myerstown, Allen Faus, and his wife, Carol, of Rock Stream, NY, Daniel Faus, and his wife, Lorraine, of Waterloo, NY, Esther, wife of the late Ken Mast, of Penn Yan, NY, Jon Faus, and his wife, Mary, of Reading, Elizabeth (Beth), and her husband, Vernon Mast, of Heron, MT, and Rose, and her husband, Nathan Overholt, of Russellville, KY.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, 2024, at Tri-County Worship Center, 1501 Schubert Road, Bethel, PA 19507. There will be a viewing from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Worship Center and from 9-10 a.m. on Friday morning. There will be no viewing from 10 a.m. to the start of the service. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
