Elizabeth J. “Betty” Witters Strauss was born to Ira and Mabel Brightbill Glick on Sept. 8, 1930. She had two older sisters, Kathyren Kudashick and Emma Fleischhauen.
She and her first husband, James M. Witters, were well known for their produce stands at Lebanon, Womelsdorf, and Leesport farmer’s markets. James passed away in 1993.
Her second husband was Pastor John O. Strauss of Corolla Chapel in Corolla, NC, from which they retired to Zephyrhills, FL, in 2007.
Betty is survived by her husband; son, James Witters Jr., and wife, Nancy; daughters, Emmy, and her husband, Ricky Romyn, and Sandy, and her husband, Eddie Cox; grandsons, Ricky Lee Romyn, Jeremy Cox, and Ryan Witters; granddaughters, Natalie Baldwin and Kim Carr; great-grandsons, Henry Cox, Sawyer Baldwin, AJ Romyn, and Brady Romyn; great-granddaughters, Brook Baldwin, Valerie Baldwin, Caroline Cox, and Peyton Carr; and many friends in central Pennsylvania and Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband; sisters; and one grandchild.
