Elsie I. Berger, 90, of Richland, PA, died on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026, at her residence. She was the wife of Paul S. Berger, who died on Nov. 24, 2008.

Born in Hamburg, PA, on March 15, 1935, she was a daughter of the late John and Ella (Reigel) Katzaman. Elsie was a member of the Friedens Lutheran Church, Myerstown, and the Myerstown Women’s Club. She was a Cub Scout den mother, taught Sunday school, and enjoyed helping others, sewing, and quilting. Elsie worked in the garment industry.

Elsie is survived by her daughter, Gail, wife of David Olesh, of Pine Grove; sons, Dennis, husband of Mary Berger, of Richland, and Bryan, husband of Ann Berger, of Boone, NC; grandchildren, Angelene, wife of Sean Rarig, Andrew, husband of Sheila Berger, Eric, husband of Macey Berger, and Samuel Berger, husband of Daniel Robinson; great-grandchildren, Aiden Berger and Corina Berger; step-grandson, Wyatt Holder; brother, Robert, husband of Pat Katzaman, of Orwigsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Elsie was preceded in death by her son, Larry Berger; grandson, Timothy Olesh; sisters, Edna Henne, Alberta Gorby, and Betty Weiler; and brothers, Bill Pearle, John Pearle, Ray Katzaman, and Earl Katzaman.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, at 3:30 p.m., at Friedens Lutheran Church, 301 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, preceded by a viewing beginning at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or Lebanon Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 5, Lebanon, PA 17042.
