Emily E. Snyder, 87, of Jonestown, was called home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 18, 2022, at her home. She was the wife of the late Frederick L. Snyder.

Born in Lebanon on May 31, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Frederick F. and Minerva M. Mease Clements.

Emily retired from the Northern Lebanon School District. She had taught as a kindergarten and 3rd-grade teacher at the Jonestown and Lickdale Elementary Schools. After her retirement, she served as a tutor. She was an active member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lickdale, where she was involved with the Women’s Missionary Society and taught at release time. She enjoyed camping and was a member of the Kampfire Camping Club and the Shriners Camping Club. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and her companion Russ Wagner of Green Point.

She is survived by her daughter Debra A. wife of Michael Mengel of Fredericksburg; sons Timothy J. and his wife Elaine Snyder of Lickdale and Paul E. and his wife Crystal of Lickdale; grandchildren Joseph Mengel and his wife Megan Auman, Jessica wife of Vijay Kumar, Bradley Snyder, Luke and his wife Carole-Marie Snyder and Hope wife of Andrew Purzer; and her foster brother Ken Rittle of GA.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Jacqueline Sheetz and Nancy Stoner.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 98 Fisher Ave., Jonestown. A visitation will be held beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church (Lickdale).
