Emily L. King, 88, passed away on April 11, 2025, in Lebanon, PA.

Emily King was born on Aug. 15, 1936, in Lebanon, PA, to Lewis and Anna Bricker.

Emily graduated from high school and went on to study cosmetology at an Empire Beauty School — more than six decades ago! For 20 years, Emily was the proud owner of a local staple, Emmy Lou’s Beauty Shop. It brought her joy to help people feel beautiful, inside and out. She also served veterans for a number of years as a Veterans Canteen Service worker, eventually going on to retire from that career.

Emily was an active churchgoer. She was a member of St. Mark’s United Church of Christ. Emily formerly belonged to St. John’s United Church of Christ for nearly 80 years until its closure. Emily also loved watching Hallmark movies and spending time with her two feathered friends, parakeets “Fred” and “Ethel.”

Emily is survived by her daughter, Beth Keeney; siblings, Judith Nelson and Ronald Bricker; grandchildren, Nathan, Natalie, and Noah; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Emily is preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Fisher, Roberta McCormick, Anna Benkovic, Jacqueline Stickler, Dorothy Meyer, Malon Bricker, Nancy Rohrer, Lois Adams, George Bricker, John Bricker, and James Bricker.

The memorial service for Ms. Emily King will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 11 a.m., at St. Mark’s United Church of Christ, with the visitation to occur from 10-11 a.m.
