Emily Lee Singleton, daughter of the late Mary Davis and Blonza Davis Sr., was born in Clarksville, VA, on Nov. 11, 1948. She attended high school in Corona, NY.

She enjoyed the finer things in life. Emily never asked for anything. She was a go-getter. She enjoyed dancing, singing, and cooking. She went on to land a job as a home health aide, something she enjoyed. Emily loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. You could always count on her to prepare a home-cooked meal, especially chicken livers in gravy.

Emily moved to Pennsylvania a few years later and met the man of her dreams, David Singleton. He proposed and married Emily on Aug. 17, 2013. We knew for sure that there would be no more chicken livers for us. When Emily fell ill, her husband, David, was by her side each and every day.

Our family would like to thank our brother-in-law, David, for the love and compassion he has shown our beloved sister. David, you will always be our family. We love you!

Preceding her in death were her mother, Mary Davis; father, Blonza Davis Sr.; and baby brother, Clinton Davis Sr.

Emily leaves behind to mourn her loving husband, David Singleton; brother, Blonza Davis Jr.; sisters, Carolyn Davis Winston and Yvonne Davis Rogers, and baby sister, Sandra Davis; nephews, Robert III, Gregory Jr., Clinton Jr., Maurice, Corey, Shawn, Martell, Justin, Perry Jr., Donald Jr., and Julian; nieces, April, Priscilla, Amy, Nicole, and Elise; sister in-law, Daphne Davis; brother in-law, Robert Winston Jr.; aunt, Thelma; uncles, Rudy and Randy; and a host of great-nieces, cousins, and friends.

Gone but never, ever forgotten.
