Emmanuel E. Gantea, 62, of Womelsdorf passed on to Glory and to his heavenly home on Saturday, October 30, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones at the Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Magdalena Simion Gantea. This year they celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary.
Born in Constanta, Romania on August 8, 1959, he was the son of the late Vladimir and Cornelia Gherebean Gantea. Emmanuel immigrated to the United States of America in 1980 and was proud to become an American citizen. Emmanuel had worked for the former Dana Corp. in Reading. His greatest joy was spending time with his family–especially his grandsons. His grandsons were the light of his life, and the title he cherished most was that of, “Pop Pop.” He spent most weekends catering to the squeals, giggles, and requests of little voices. Those little voices will miss him greatly.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters Jennifer R. Gantea, of Port St. Lucie, FL, Roberta J. wife of Edwin Santiago, of Myerstown, PA, and Adrianne C. Gantea, of Womelsdorf, PA; brothers Petre Gantea, of Florida, Eugen Gantea, of Florida, Joseph Gantea, of New York, and Liviu Gantea, of New York; sisters Elena Preda, of South Carolina, Cami Gantea, of California, and Cecilia Popescu, of Oregon; and grandsons Benjamin and Samuel.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 72 & Camp Meeting Rd., Jonestown. A viewing will be held on Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Interment will be at the Berks County Memorial Gardens.
