Erlene M. Wagner, 90, of Myerstown, died on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Robert H. Wagner, who died on Nov. 21, 2008.
Born in Jackson Township, PA, on April 12, 1935, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Mary K. (Kreider) Gibble. Erlene was a 1953 graduate of Myerstown High School. She was a member of the Myerstown Church of the Brethren, where she sang in the choir, served as treasurer, and was active with the Sharing Cupboard. Erlene worked as a secretary at Frederick Chevrolet, Lebanon, from 1985 to 2008. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family, golfing, walking, and traveling.
Erlene is survived by her daughter, Linda (the late James) Smith, of Mount Aetna; son, Dean, husband of Katrina Wagner, of Myerstown; grandchildren, James Jr., Kyle, Jeremy, Janelle, Seth, and Jamie; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Verna (the late Richard “Dick”) Forney, of Myerstown; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mildred (George) Strangarity, of Myerstown; and brothers, J. Henry Gibble, Mark Gibble Sr., and Marlin Gibble.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, Nov. 24, 2025, at 11 a.m., at the Myerstown Church of the Brethren, preceded by a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
