Ernest F. Dudash, 86, of Jonestown and formerly of Johnstown, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at his home. He was the husband of Carol O. Smith Dudash. On Nov. 20, they celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.

Born in Johnstown on Jan. 15, 1938, he was the son of the late Frank and Catherine Kalmar Dudash.

He was a graduate of Penn State University. He retired from Bethlehem Steel, where he worked as a civil engineer. He was a lifetime member of the Jackson Township Sportsman’s Club. He was also a member of the ATA Trap Shooting Assoc. He and his wife especially enjoyed trap shooting together, and he had nearly 200,000 registered targets. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, John S., and his wife, Kim Dudash, of Annville; daughter, Renee M., wife of Michael Cocchiara, of Bluffton, SC; sister, Muncie, wife of Stephen Harper, of Santa Rosa, CA; and grandchildren, Alexa and Nicole Dudash, and Andrew and Brendan Cocchiara.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Procce.

Services will be at the convenience of the family.
