Ernest R. Thompson, 95, passed away on June 30, 2025, in Lebanon, PA.

Ernest was born on April 8, 1930, in Millersburg, PA, to James and Helen Thompson. After he graduated from high school, he proudly served with the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1951. He started his career as a Nursing Assistant and eventually retired from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

A man of God, Ernest was an active member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lebanon for many years. He married Fay Thompson, and the couple had two daughters, Valerie Miller and Valeta Thompson. He was an avid reader, particularly of mysteries and WWII history. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors golfing or hunting. He was a member of the Annville American Legion Post 559, as well as the R Field and Stream Association.

Ernest is survived by his daughter, Valerie (Theodore) Miller; grandsons, Dr. Todd Leahy and Kristofer Miller; great-grandchildren, Clark Miller, Parker Miller, Logan Miller, Carter Miller, Grant Leahy, and Quinn Leahy; and sister, Claire Nagg.

Ernest was preceded in death by his wife, Fay Thompson; daughter, Valeta Thompson; brother, Wayne Thompson; and sister, Lois Shreve.

The service for Mr. Ernest Thompson will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, following a 10 a.m. viewing. Burial will be immediately after at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
