Ernest W. “Ernie” Johnson, 86, of Lebanon, died on Monday, January 16, 2023, at his home.

He was born on Tuesday, December 8, 1936, to the late Harry F. Johnson and Mary Johnson nee Kerkeslager in Lebanon. He worked as a sales engineer for Lebanon Steel Foundry and later retired from Elyria Steel Foundry. He was a member of R Field & Stream, Maennerchor Club, and a Mason. Ernie enjoyed golf and was an avid reader.

Surviving are wife, Betty M. Johnson nee Hibshman; children, Kerk C. Johnson, and spouse, Patty, and Patricia L. Lear; grandchildren, Danielle Johnson, Riley Stumpf, and Raysean Johnson; sister, Linda Gibble; and daughter-in-law, Yvonne Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael S. Johnson.

Viewing will be on Friday, January 20, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Christman’s Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon. Funeral services will be on Friday, January 20, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon, following the service.
