Esther H. Bohr, 83, of Fredericksburg, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at her home. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Kreider and Stanford J. Bohr.

Born in Lebanon on Aug. 7, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. Sr. and Elsie Mae (Reber) Haas and her adoptive parents, Robert and Margaret Shilling. For 35 years, she was a waitress for Heisey’s Diner. She was a member of the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church. Esther enjoyed going out with the Golden Girls, playing cards, going to Heisey’s Diner, and having her dog, Arlo. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and going to Ocean City and Rehobeth Beach with them.

She is survived by her daughter, Connie M., wife of Sheldon Houser, of Fredericksburg; stepchildren, Kenneth Bohr, of Palmyra, Richard Bohr, of Georgia, and Pat Miller, of Lebanon; sister, Joenita LeGay, of Jonestown; brothers, Stanton Shilling and Elvin Shilling, both of Fredericksburg; grandchildren, Jessica (Brandon) Grumbine, of Fredericksburg, Elizabeth (Tyler) Carns, of Newville, and several other grandchildren; and great-grandchildren, Lily, Cooper, and Parker Grumbine, Theo and Ellie Carns, and several other great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her stepsons, John and Herbert Bohr; brothers, Charles, Earl, Carl, and Harvey Haas; and sisters, Helen Volivo, Anna Martzall, and Arlene Dalton.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg.
