Evelyn “Evie” Faye (Schwenk) Eisenhauer, 96, entered eternal rest on Dec. 21, 2023, at Stoneridge Town Centre in Myerstown, PA. She was divorced from her first husband, John C. White, and was widowed from her second husband, William Eisenhauer.
Born May 31, 1927, on a small farm in Annville to the late Ammon and Anna Schwenk, she was the oldest of eight siblings. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Warren “Blackie” Schwenk and James “Jimmy” Schwenk; and her sisters, Thelma “Dolly” Schwenk, Mary (Binner) Barto, Rosalie “Rosie” Sovar, and infant twin sisters, Peggy Jean and Patsy Jane.
She held several jobs in her working career but retired from her favorite job, working at the Good Samaritan Hospital, where she worked in the transport department. There, she made so many friends, including patients, staff members, and doctors.
She loved being with her family and spoiling her grandchildren, her soap operas, playing bingo, her dogs, “Tootsie” and “Peggy,” and her birds, “Pretty Boy” and “Hoppy,” country music, and dancing. In her younger days, she could really cut a rug.
She was a loving mother (and mamaw) to her surviving son, Gregory (Karen) White, Lebanon; and daughter, Brenda (Paul) Lantz, New Bloomfield. Her surviving grandchildren are Scott White, Angela Scibelli, Clayton Spitler, and Matthew Spitler. Her surviving great-grandchildren are Arianna Sando, Alyssa White, Corey Scibelli, Nathan Carpenter, Brooke, Tyler, and Willow Spitler. And her one great-great-grandson is Parker Sando. Also surviving are numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Christman’s Funeral Home, 226 Cumberland St., Lebanon, on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023. Viewing will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the service at 10 a.m. Interment will take place at Ebenezer Covenant/Greenwood Cemetery following the service.
