Fern Evelyn (Blackwell) Beam, 88, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on Saturday, March 13, 2021. She was born Saturday, Oct. 15, 1932, to the late James and Mamie (Shifflett) Blackwell.
Fern retired from the Hershey Food factory and went on to enjoy traveling. Fern not only drove across the country but traveled to Europe and Greece. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading or spending time with friends and family. Most importantly she was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and sister.
She is survived by her children, Dawn Nye and husband Howard, and Brian Beam, grandchildren, Rebecca Nye and partner, Chris Sheetz, Gloria Gallagher and husband Charlie, Kristen Beam, and Paul Beam, great-grandchildren, Genevieve Larsen, Gavin Olson, Keira Sheetz, Emelyn Sheetz, Christina Gallagher and husband Ryan Hoover, and Donny Brantley, Jr., great-great-granddaughter, Leyani Brantley, and brother, Daniel Blackwell and wife Claire.
She is predeceased by her grandson Jonathan Nye.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
