Fidel Martinez-Velez, 66, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Oct. 31, 2025, at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon.
Fidel was born on May 2, 1959, to the late Ruben and Maria Arsenia Martinez (Velez) in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and lived a life defined by love, family, and hard work. He dedicated many years to his profession as a shipper/receiver for Keystone Spikes.
Fidel had a deep love for family and animals, especially dogs, and took great pleasure in raising birds. He enjoyed spending his leisure time playing dominoes and watching his favorite Western movies, activities that brought him joy and connected him with friends and family.
Fidel leaves behind his cherished wife, Cindy Martinez (Strickler); sons, Fidel, Mario, and Luis Martinez and Harry Beamesderfer; and devoted daughter, Amy Beamesderfer. He adored his 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. Additionally, he is survived by his brother, Jose Martinez; sister-in-law, Marilyn Martinez; sister, Dori Baez; brother-in-law, Carlos Baez; and sister, Blanca Martinez.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Christman’s Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 226 Cumberland St., Lebanon. A viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Graveside services will follow the funeral service at Kimmerlings Cemetery, Lebanon.
