Florence B. Umberger, 91, of Annville, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025, at her residence at Kindred Place in Annville. She was the wife of the late Donald H. Umberger, who passed away in 2022.

Florence was born in South Annville Township on Jan. 7, 1934, to the late Harold W. and Violet I. (Wolfe) Risser.

She was a 1955 Lebanon Valley College graduate, with a BS in biology. She was a school teacher and homemaker. Florence was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Campbelltown, where she taught Christian education for over 50 years. She was very active and involved with all aspects of the church, including teaching, missions, and the Women’s Guild. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Florence also enjoyed sewing and baking.

Surviving are her son, Donald M. Umberger (Cindy), of Hershey; granddaughters, Katie Umberger (Jon Toto) and Christy Umberger (Christian Brand); and sisters-in-law, Loretta Risser and Mary Umberger.

She was preceded in death by her son, David Umberger; and brothers, Harold Risser Jr. and Roger Risser.

A memorial service will be held on March 19 at 6:30 p.m. at Salem UCC church, with visitation at 5:30 p.m.
