Florence W. “Nan” Johnson, 95, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Hershey Medical Center.
Born in Cornwall, she was the beloved daughter of the late Richard and Colissa E. Wilson Hayes. Nan was the loving wife of the late Oliver L. Johnson Sr. She proudly graduated from Cornwall High School, class of 1948. After school, Nan took her talent of cooking to the kitchen, working for both Cornwall Manor and Spang Crest, where endless residents enjoyed Nan’s wonderful cooking. Her fried chicken and sweet potato pie swept the competition. She was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Kansas City Chiefs fan. You could always find her with sports on the television. Nan loved nothing more than her family, especially her grandchildren, supporting them in any endeavors that they took part in. She found time to learn to play the piano and put her soul into every song. Her gentleness and kindness will be remembered not only by her friends and family but by all those who knew her.
Surviving are her children, Robert L., husband of Deborah A. Hayes, Oliver L. Johnson Jr., Brent A. Johnson, and Deborah L. Johnson, a.k.a Miss Debbie, bus 39; grandchildren, Stephanie Marie, Jaren, Oliver III, Krystina, Alexis, Brent Jr., Kenslee, Morgan, and Tasha; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in passing were her siblings, Joseph, Richard, Esther, Mary “Aunt Betsy,” Jimmy, and Shirley.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral service for Nan on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Snyder Bean Funeral Home & Crematory, 890 Isabel Dr., Lebanon, PA 17042, at 11 a.m. There will be a viewing and time of visitation with the family from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Cornwall Cemetery.
