Frederick T. Schultz, 76, of Newmanstown, formerly of Mechanicsville, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024, at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Nancy L. (Haley) Schultz. On May 3, 2024, they would have celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary.
Frederick was born in Pottsville on June 3, 1947, to the late Frederick and Elsie (Durr) Schultz, Mechanicsville.
He was a graduate of Nativity BVM High School Class of 1965. Following high school, Frederick served as a U.S. Marine in the Vietnam Conflict. Frederick worked as a Correction Officer first at the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville. He then worked at the SCI Mahanoy State Prison until his retirement.
Frederick came into this world with a mischievous gleam in his eye, an entertaining sense of humor, and a contagious laugh. His greatest joys were teasing his family and friends and sparring with his children and grandchildren, who inherited his sense of humor.
Frederick possessed a charismatic personality that drew people to him. He could make friends wherever he went and in any situation. The greatest accomplishment of his life that he shares with his wife is that they were able to put all four of their children through college. Nothing would light up Frederick’s face more than when he was with his grandchildren.
Frederick will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a good man with a fun personality who loved his family and was a loyal friend.
In addition to his parents, Frederick was preceded in death by his identical twin brother, George, who lost his life in Vietnam.
In addition to his wife, Frederick is survived by his children, Kerri Schultz, of Mechanicsville, George Schultz (Donna), of Cleona, Patricia Schultz, of Pottsville, Colleen Wesloskie (Mark), of Newmanstown, and Patrick Haley (Theresa); grandchildren, Emma Schultz, Quinn Schultz, Peyton Wesloskie, and Nora Wesloskie; several nieces and nephews; sister, Elizabeth Cleary (Steve), of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and lifelong friends, David Bechtel and Walter Thomas.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2024, 12:30-2 p.m., followed by a memorial at 2 p.m. at Kreamer Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 618 E. Main St., Annville. Inurnment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Road, Annville.
