Gardner E. Boyer, 89, of Palmyra, passed away on Monday, Dec. 25, 2023, at the Londonderry Village. He is survived by his loving wife of over 66 years, Georgeanna G. (Shaud) Boyer.

Born in Annville, PA, on Aug. 26, 1934, he was the son of the late John and Anne (Schell) Boyer.

Gardner was a graduate of Annville High School Class of 1952 and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked as a shop supervisor for Hershey Chocolate. Gardner was a member of Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher for many years, a trustee, and served on the church building committee. He was also a member of the American Legion and played trumpet in the Washington Band. He enjoyed going on vacation with his grandchildren to the beach.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, is two children, Edward Boyer, husband of Jolan, of Annville, and Andrea Pfautz, of Palmyra; two grandchildren, Hayley McDonell, wife of Martin, and Noah Pfautz, husband of Makayla; and a great-granddaughter, Salem McDonell.

Gardner was preceded in death by 11 siblings, Harold, Earl, Vincent, Raymond, Clifford, Marlin, Richard, Mervin, Winifred, Virginia, and Doris Boyer.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place at Grand View Memorial Park.
